Two people run marketing for a store with 4,000 SKUs. Neither has a week to spend monitoring.

Good enough monitoring is a short list of exception checks on a fixed cadence.

The principle: exceptions, not dashboards

Look for conditions that mean something is wrong and someone should act today. Everything else is context.

Daily, ten minutes

  • Is spend normal?
  • Is tracking alive?
  • Are hero products in stock?

Weekly, thirty to forty five minutes

Review Merchant Center priority issues, Google Ads product issues, Meta creative health, and impression share on hero products.

Monthly, an hour

Review blended efficiency, revenue-weighted catalog coverage, creative variety, feed cadence, structured data, and market setup.

Decide once which signals count as alerts and ignore the rest deliberately rather than by exhaustion.
