Your ad promises a bundle. The click lands on a product page for one item in that bundle, with the offer buried three scrolls down.
The creative did its job. The destination undid it.
When the PDP is the right answer
PDPs usually win for branded search, retargeting, simple products, and ads where the creative already did the selling.
Why promos and bundles specifically break
A bundle has no natural home in a SKU-organized catalog. Promos are temporary while PDP templates are permanent. Cold traffic also needs a different argument.
The message match checklist
- Echo the ad headline
- State the offer above the fold
- Show the correct product, set, and variant
- Make the buy path immediate
- Verify offer mechanics
- Reduce exits
Test destination separately from creative. The answer is often segment-specific: dedicated offer pages for prospecting, PDPs for retargeting and brand.
